Tokayev proposes creation of artificial intelligence ministry

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has called for the establishment of a Ministry of Artificial Intelligence, according to Report's Kazakhstan bureau.

"The ministry should be headed by a specialist at the rank of Deputy Prime Minister," Tokayev said while delivering his latest address to the nation in Parliament.

He noted that the new ministry would be formed based on the existing Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry.

Tokayev also outlined plans to dissolve the Committee for the Return of Illegally Obtained Assets and establish a Committee for the Protection of Investors" Rights.

"It is time to rename the Committee for the Return of Assets as the Committee for the Protection of Investors" Rights," the president stated.

He added that the recovered funds have already been used to build 10 schools, four sports facilities, and healthcare and water infrastructure projects.
