Tokayev: Kazakhstan welcomes normalization between Azerbaijan and Armenia

Kazakhstan welcomes the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia with the mediation of the President of the United States, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said speaking at the general debates of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.
Report informs, citing Akorda, that according to Tokayev, this proves that even "long-standing conflicts" can be resolved through diplomacy.
"Guided by this principle, Kazakhstan consistently advocates diplomacy instead of escalation and dialogue instead of force," the Kazakh leader emphasized.
On August 8 in Washington, the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia, in the presence of the US President, signed a joint declaration consisting of seven points. One of the points of this document concerns the launch of the Zangazur Corridor ("Trump Route") within the framework of unblocking regional communications. In addition, the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia initialed the Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations.
