Tajikistan to launch project on digitalization of CIS transport corridors

Tajikistan, as part of its CIS chairmanship, intends to initiate a project to develop a Strategy for digitalization of key intermodal transport corridors within the Commonwealth space, Tajikistan's ambassador to Azerbaijan, Ilhom Abdurahmon, said at an event dedicated to the country's CIS chairmanship in 2025, Report informs.

The ambassador noted that the expertise of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) will be engaged for the implementation of this project.

"In the transport direction, we will continue to support the activities of the Intergovernmental Council of Road Workers, the Coordination Transport Meeting, and the Railway Transport Council in matters of design, construction, reconstruction, and operation of roads and railways, improving the network of road facilities. We will pay special attention to joint efforts to further eliminate barriers to international transit transportation, as well as transparent tariff policy," said the diplomat.
