A special operation is underway in Almaty, Kazakhstan, to clear the Republic Square of rioters, Report informs via TASS.
The authorities are sending SMS to the city residents regarding the anti-terrorist operation.
The Kazakh Health Ministry said that more than 1,000 people were injured in the riots, and about 400 were hospitalized.
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has instructed to set up a special investigation team to identify the perpetrators of the riots and bring them to justice.
