The main priorities of Russia's work in the South Caucasus are peace and cooperation, which have never changed.
According to Report, citing Russian media, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov made the remark while addressing students and faculty members of MGIMO.
The minister also stated that the Russian side hopes for the prompt resumption of cooperation between the South Caucasus countries and their three neighbors in the "3+3" format.
"We very much hope that work within the framework of the initiative once put forward by Türkiye and Azerbaijan - namely, the initiative to create the ‘3+3" platform - will resume. The three South Caucasus countries - Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia - and their three major neighbors - Iran, Türkiye, and Russia… We believe that now is the right time to revive this format," the Russian minister said, expressing hope for a meeting in the near future.
