Azerbaijan, Colombia mull cooperation on addressing problem of landmines

Assistant to the Azerbaijani President, Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration, Hikmet Hajiyev, met with Deputy Foreign Minister of Colombia Juana Castro Santamaria, during her visit to Azerbaijan, Report informs.

"We held fruitful discussions with Ms. Juana Esperanza Castro Santamaria, Deputy Foreign Minister of Colombia during her visit to Azerbaijan. The current level of political dialogue between our countries is encouraging," Hajiyev wrote on X.

He emphasized the "significant potential to expand cooperation in economic and trade, cultural and humanitarian, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges."

"Both Azerbaijan and Colombia are affected by the problem of landmines, and we also addressed opportunities for cooperation and the exchange of experience in this area. We express our gratitude to the Colombian side for its support in promoting the Spanish language in Azerbaijan," Hajiyev said.
