Russia's COVID death toll exceeds 230,000

Over the past day, medical experts recorded 35,660 new cases of coronavirus infection in Russia, Report informs referring to Russian media.
The total number of registered cases in the country since the pandemic onset has reached 8,241,643.
To date, a total of 230,600 people died due to COVID-related health complications in Russia, including 1,072 deaths seen over the past day. The number of recoveries is 7,165,921.
Currently, there are 845,122 active cases in the country.
More than 244.2 million people globally have contracted the virus since the onset of the pandemic. The deadly pathogen has claimed over 4.96 million lives, though unable to cope with 221.24 million patients, who managed to recover.
