Iran protests to Russia over Persian Gulf name

Iran has sent a note of protest to the Russian Foreign Ministry over the name of the Persian Gulf, Report informs, referring to spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry Saeed Khatibzadeh.
"Through our embassy in Moscow, a protest note has been submitted to the Russian Foreign Ministry," Khatibzadeh said.
He was commenting on the name ‘Arabian Gulf’ used for the Persian Gulf on the official account of the Russian Foreign Ministry (in Arabic).
There is no agreement on the Gulf’s name in the Middle East - the Arab countries call it ‘Arabian Gulf,’ while Iran calls it ‘The Persian Gulf.’
