Iran has accused the UN Security Council of inaction amid US strikes.
According to Report, this was reflected in a letter by Iran's Permanent Representative to the UN, Amir-Saeid Iravani, addressed to the UN Secretary‑General and the President of the Security Council.
According to the diplomat, the council's failure to act has allowed the United States to continue committing "acts of aggression and war crimes" against Iran, thereby violating the UN Charter, international law, and international humanitarian norms.
Iravani also claimed that US strikes have targeted civilians and civilian infrastructure, including bridges and railways.
In this regard, Tehran once again called on the UN Security Council to fulfill its obligations to safeguard international peace and security, to take measures to stop US aggression, and to ensure Washington is held accountable, he noted.
