High-ranking military officer arrested in Armenia over evading 44-day war

A colonel who was the deputy commander of one of the military units of the Armenian Ministry of Defense during the 44-day war has been arrested over evading participation in the battles under the guise of illness, the Armenian Military Investigative Committee said, Report informs via Aysor.

The facts were obtained following the preliminary investigation and large-scale investigative-operational measures. According to those facts, the colonel whose name wasn't disclosed did not join the battles under the guise of illness from October 10 to November 3, 2020.

According to the information, the colonel was temporarily suspended from performing his official duties after staying in a medical institution for 23 days without requiring inpatient treatment.
