Bread in Georgia has risen in price by about 15 tetri, the local Bureau of Report informs.
The price increase is due to the completion of the government's six-month subsidy program for wheat flour.
Bakeries in the neighboring country raised prices by ten tetri, while shops by an additional five tetri.
Malkhaz Dolidze, Chairman of Bakery Products Association, said the price increase was inevitable: "it was mainly related to the rise in raw materials. Prices for other auxiliary materials and utilities required for production have also increased.
Notably, bread, the most in-demand product in the neighboring country, is sold for 80 tetri.
