Georgia seeks to strengthen its role in Middle Corridor

Georgia's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili stated that the country clearly understands what steps must be taken to more effectively fulfill its role in the development of the Middle Corridor.

According to Report's Georgia bureau, she made the remarks on Imedi TV's Daily Chronicle program.

The minister noted that the unipolar system is now a thing of the past, and the emerging multipolar world order requires Georgia to pursue multi‑vector diplomacy.

Bochorishvili emphasized that Georgia, located at a geopolitical crossroads, should develop relations with countries from different regions and political systems. In her view, this approach will further strengthen the country"s strategic role within the Middle Corridor.

She added that for many years Georgia"s foreign policy was mainly focused in one direction, but the current geopolitical environment makes it necessary to deepen relations with various regions. According to her, strengthening cooperation with regions of growing importance on the global geopolitical map carries strategic significance for Georgia.
