Georgia required to apply visa regime with Russia

The Georgian Tourism Industry Alliance members require a short-term visa regime with Russia, Report informs.
The organization has addressed an open appeal to the Speaker of the Georgian parliament on the issue.
According to the document, the number of Russian citizens in Georgia has increased sharply, and it must be immediately restricted with applying the visa regime.
Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili said that 20,000-25,000 Russian citizens have recently arrived in Georgia, which is the same number as in 2020.
As for the appeal of the Alliance, the minister said that talks would be held with the organization.
Notably, Georgia unilaterally abolished the visa regime for Russian citizens from March 1, 2012.
