France refuses to extradite former governor to Armenia

France refused to extradite Surik Khachatryan, the former governor of Armenia's Syunik province, to Yerevan, said the General Prosecutor's Office of Armenia, Report informs.
The French court rejected Armenia's request for the extradition of Khachatryan.
The former governor of Syunik province has been wanted since 2019. An arrest warrant was issued against him in absentia. Khachatryan is accused of abuse of power, fraud, and damage to the state.
