Former Iranian leader Ali Khamenei's burial begins in Mashhad

The burial ceremony for former Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has begun in his hometown of Mashhad, according to Iran's state-run IRNA news agency.
The ceremony marks the conclusion of a series of mourning events held since July 4 in Tehran and Qom, as well as in the Iraqi holy cities of Najaf and Karbala.
According to Iranian authorities, the commemorations were attended by political figures from more than 45 countries, along with scholars, religious leaders, and researchers from over 90 nations.
Khamenei was killed on February 28 in strikes carried out by the United States and Israel, according to Iranian state media.
