European Commission: Support for South Caucasus countries very important

The support of Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova and the countries of the South Caucasus is very important, Executive Vice President of the European Commission for An Economy that Works for People Valdis Dombrovskis said at the plenary session of the European Parliament, Report's Georgian bureau informs.
“We will continue to support partners and strengthen ties with them,” he said.
He also added that the European Commission has come up with an initiative to increase non-lethal military assistance to Georgia and Moldova.
The assistance will consist of boosting logistical, cybersecurity, military-medical, engineering and mobility capabilities, he said. The project is scheduled to be submitted in June and a decision is expected to be made in July.
