Presidents of Turkiye and Syria Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Bashar al-Assad may hold telephone conversations, Report informs referring to the Turkish newspaper Turkiye.
The two leaders have not spoken since 2011.
The Turkish president, after meeting with his Russian counterpart in Sochi, told reporters that Vladimir Putin had suggested that he "choose the path to solve" problems in Syria in cooperation with Bashar al-Assad's regime.
According to the newspaper, Ankara believes that it is too early to hold a personal meeting between the presidents of Turkiye and Syria, so they can start by talking over the phone.
