Ankara hosts discussions on statistical cooperation among Islamic countries

Discussions are underway on expanding statistical cooperation among Islamic countries as part of the 14th session of the Statistical Commission of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC-StatCom), held in Ankara, Türkiye, Report informs.

The discussions, hosted at the Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC), feature Azerbaijan's participation represented by Tahir Budagov, Chairman of the State Statistical Committee.

The event opened with recitations from the Quran, followed by deliberations on the current state and future prospects of statistical collaboration among OIC member states. Representatives from international organizations, including the Islamic Development Bank, also addressed the session.

The three-day event includes a review of the OIC-StatCom Action Plan for 2026–2030.
