World hunger soars due to pandemic

The number of people suffering from hunger globally due to the pandemic has risen sharply, said the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the World Food Programme (WFP).
In 2020, the number of people experiencing starvation in the world will reach 768 million (118 million more than in 2019). This is 10% of the total population of the planet.
Most undernourished people live in Asia and Africa. 418 million in Asia and 21% of the population in Africa have difficulty finding food on a daily basis.
