France will remain a permanent member of the UN Security Council, Secretary of State Gabriel Attal said at a briefing on September 22, Report informs.
“Contrary to the assertions of the English tabloid Daily Telegraph relayed this morning, no, France has not offered to leave its seat on the United Nations Security Council. It belongs to France and will remain so,” the office of President Emmanuel Macron tweeted.
