US to reenter Paris climate agreement

US President Joe Biden signed a decree on Jan. 21 to return the country to the Paris climate agreement, Report informs citing RIA Novosti.
Under the Donald Trump administration, the US withdrew from several international formats and agreements, including the Paris climate agreement.
During the election campaign, Biden said that one of his presidency’s primary goals would be to return Washington to the climate agreement.
He appointed former Secretary of State John Kerry, who was actively involved in developing the Paris Agreement, as special adviser on climate issues. He will coordinate the role of the United States on climate affairs in the international arena.
