UN secretary-general appeals to Israel, Palestine

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called on Palestine and Israel to immediately end hostilities, the secretary general’s spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said, Report informs referring to foreign media.
The Secretary-General calls on all parties to immediately end the fighting in Gaza and Israel, Dujarric noted.
The UN calls on Israel and Palestine to allow providing mediating assistance in the settlement of the conflict, he added.
He said that hostilities can provoke a humanitarian crisis as well as a security crisis and, in addition, further fuel extremism in the region as a whole.
