Ukrainian pilots arrive in Denmark for training on F-16 fighter jets

Eight Ukrainian pilots have arrived in Denmark to be trained to fly F-16 fighter jets after the country committed to donating warplanes to Kyiv, Report informs, citing Sky News.

Along with the pilots, 65 personnel were sent to a military airbase in Skrydstrup to be trained in maintaining and servicing the jets, the Danish armed forces said.
Denmark and the Netherlands pledged to send the aircraft on Sunday, a few days after the US approved the possible delivery.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy called the decision a "breakthrough agreement" and said the planes would help strengthen Ukraine's air defenses and help its counter-offensive.

Denmark will supply Ukraine with 19 F-16 jets and will deliver the first six jets around the beginning of next year.

The Netherlands has yet to decide how many jets it will send.
