Suspect in murder of former Ukrainian Rada speaker detained

A suspect in the murder of former Verkhovna Rada Speaker Andriy Parubiy has been taken into custody, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on his Telegram channel, citing the Ukrainian interior minister and the head of Ukraine's Security Service (SBU), Report informs via TASS.
According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine's Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko and SBU chief Vasyl Maliuk have just informed him that the murder suspect had been detained. The investigation is underway, and the suspect is being questioned.
Parubiy was shot and killed in Lviv, Ukraine, on August 30. The shooter fled the scene.
Parubiy was born on January 31, 1971, in the Lviv Region. He served as Ukraine's security council secretary from February 27 to August 7, 2014, and as speaker of the Verkhovna Rada from April 14, 2016, to August 29, 2019.
