Russian envoy eyes meeting Taliban leadership

Russian Ambassador to Afghanistan Dmitry Zhirnov plans to meet with the chief coordinator of the Taliban movement, press attaché of the Russian diplomatic mission in Kabul Nikita Ishchenko said, Report informs referring to RIA Novosti.
“It is planned to meet with the chief coordinator of the Taliban movement in Kabul, who accepts the surrender of government forces,” said Nikita Ishchenko.
He noted that the exact date of the meeting is being agreed upon. The parties will discuss ensuring the security of Russian diplomats.
