President of the Philippines Rodrigo Duterte is in quarantine after a member of his household staff tested positive for COVID-19, acting Palace spokesperson Karlo Nograles said, Report informs, citing CNN Philippines.
The President tested negative for the virus, Nograles said in a statement.
"The President has since been tested for COVID-19, and while the results of the test came back negative, he is currently observing mandatory quarantine protocols," he added.
The first COVID-19 case in the Philippines, with a population of 109 million people, was registered on January 30, 2020. So far, 3.57 million people have contracted, 3.36 million of them have recovered, and 54,000 patients have died. 59.3 million people have been vaccinated.
