"Russian President Vladimir Putin's demands to end the war in Ukraine are unacceptable, French President Emmanuel Macron said before the Versailles Summit of the EU leaders, Report informs, citing UNIAN.
"I have to be realistic. We are constantly in talks with President Putin. We are trying to negotiate and achieve a ceasefire. But I must admit that Putin's demands are unacceptable," he said.
According to him, the main issue today is whether Putin is ready for sincere negotiations and to offer something: "But the facts show: Russia has decided to start a war, is bombing Ukraine, Russia is bombing civilians and negotiating in parallel. But these talks yield no results. To be honest, I do not see a ceasefire in the next few hours."
