In an interview published September 3 by the French news magazine Le Point, Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said a "Korean scenario" in Ukraine is not out of the question, Report informs referring to The New Voice of Ukraine.
"You ask me whether such a scenario can be realized in Ukraine? I answer that anything is possible," he said.
"We must note that South Korea has a major ally, the United States, which would not allow North Korea to seize it. So, everything is relative: the South Koreans are still at risk."
Zelenskyy noted that South Korea remains vulnerable to North Korean aggression but said its modern air-defense systems offer significant protection.
"Honestly, Ukraine is determined to obtain reliable security guarantees, for example, Patriot systems like those South Korea possesses," he said.
He added, however, that the parallels between North Korea and Russia are limited. North Korea has a population of just over 20 million, while Russia's exceeds 140 million, he noted.
"You cannot compare the scale of these threats; the Russian threat is five, six or even ten times greater," the president stated.
