Kazakhstan, Pakistan aim to boost trade to $1 billion annually

Kazakhstan and Pakistan are aiming to increase their bilateral trade turnover to $1 billion per year and expand the scope of deliveries, Report informs, citing Kazakhstan's Ministry of Trade and Integration.
Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu is on an official visit to Islamabad at the invitation of the Pakistani side. The delegation includes Trade and Integration Minister Arman Shakkaliev, Transport Minister Nurlan Sauranbayev, and representatives from various state institutions.
During talks with Pakistan's Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, both sides discussed the prospects for developing bilateral relations. Special attention was given to enhancing trade and economic cooperation, improving transport and logistics ties, and advancing collaboration in agriculture, energy, and information technology.
The foreign ministers stressed the importance of taking concrete steps to reach the $1 billion trade goal in the coming years. They also discussed cooperation within international organizations such as the UN, SCO, and OIC.
At the end of the meeting, Kazakhstan and Pakistan signed a Joint Action Plan between their foreign ministries for 2025–2026.
