Japan has tightened restrictions on the import of Russian diamonds for non-industrial use, Report informs via the Japan Foreign Ministry.
"Measures are being introduced to ban the import of non-industrial diamonds originating from the Russian Federation (including those processed outside the Russian Federation)," the Japanese ministry said in a document.
The United States has banned the import of unsorted diamonds from Russia.
On March 1, the US ban on the import of unsorted diamonds and diamond jewelry from Russia, as well as non-industrial diamonds from Russia weighing 1 carat, came into force. Also, from March 1, the G7 countries will begin to introduce phased restrictions on the import of Russian diamonds processed in third countries.
