Japan reports spread of bird flu

Japanese authorities have recorded an outbreak of avian flu in the southwestern city of Mitoyosu in Kagawa prefecture, Report says, referring to NHK.
In this regard, the Prime Minister of Japan Yoshihide Suga instructed the relevant ministries to call on traders to be extremely vigilant about poultry, collect information on the area, and take urgent measures to prevent the epidemic.
According to Kyodo, the Kagawa prefecture authority will soon establish a headquarters to combat bird influenza spread.
The agency also noted that about 330,000 chickens would be slaughtered at the local poultry farm.
