Japan approves free COVID-19 vaccines for nation

A bill to provide coronavirus vaccinations free of charge with the central government covering the cost was passed in the Diet, offering a pivotal plan to stem the virus as Japan struggles with its worst-yet wave of infections., Report says, citing RIA Novosti.
The state budget will also cover the costs of side effects and claims against pharmaceutical companies.
According to the decision, the vaccination will not be mandatory.
The state will also provide a system for storing the vaccine and awareness-raising activities.
Mass vaccination is expected to begin in the first half of 2021, starting with health workers, the elderly, and people at risk.
