Ishaq Dar: Hope for constructive US–Iran dialogue

Pakistan is hopeful for constructive negotiations between the United States and Iran, according to Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.
According to Report, Dar said Pakistan will continue to facilitate the parties in reaching a sustainable peace agreement.
"Ishaq Dar expressed hope that the parties will engage in constructive dialogue and reaffirmed Pakistan's willingness to continue assisting them in achieving a lasting and durable solution to the conflict," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
It is noted that Iranian and US delegations have already arrived in Islamabad for talks scheduled for April 11, although the exact start time has not been announced.
On February 28, the United States and Israel launched military operations against Iran and carried out airstrikes on several cities. On the same day, Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed in the strikes.
In response, Iran launched missile strikes on Israeli territory and attacked US military bases in the Persian Gulf region.
Iran, the United States, and their allies reached a two-week ceasefire agreement on the night of April 8, 2026.
