Iranian president expresses regret to Qatar emir over US base strikes

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian expressed regret in a phone call with Qatar's ruling Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani that Tehran's target in retaliating for US airstrikes was a military base in Qatar, Qatar's prime minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, told a press conference with his Lebanese counterpart in Doha, Report informs via Reuters.
Pezeshkian said Iran was keen to expand its mutually beneficial, friendly, and fraternal relations with Qatar and expressed hope that he would meet the emir in Doha at the earliest opportunity to discuss ways to improve relations.
