A new variant of coronavirus has been detected in three patients at the Garmisch-Partenkirchen city clinic in Bavaria, Germany. Report informs, citing the local newspaper Munchner Mercury.
A total of 73 people, including patients and staff, became infected with the virus during the rapid spread at the hospital. An unknown COVID-19 strain has been identified in three of them.
The tests were sent to the Charite Clinic in Berlin for examination. Although doctors have confirmed that they have encountered a mutated virus, they do not know its features.
