Ebola cases in DR Congo surpass 2,000

The number of laboratory-confirmed Ebola fever cases in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has reached 2,011.
According to Report, citing the DRC Ministry of Communication and Media's daily bulletin, 20 new cases were confirmed in the past 24 hours.
Official data shows that 754 people have died, with a fatality rate of 23.4%. Currently, 376 patients remain in hospitals and medical isolation units.
The outbreak began on May 15 in eastern DRC and Uganda, with the epicenter located in Ituri Province. Since then, the spread has continued, raising concerns about containment.
