The number of heat-related deaths in June reached 900 in Spain, Report informs referring to El Pais.
This June, the country twice broke historical temperature records. Daytime temperatures in most of the country exceeded 35°C, and in some regions they reached an extreme 40°C.
June was the second month with the highest number of heat-related deaths since statistics began being kept in 2015. Over these 11 years, the average death toll in June was 328, with the number reaching 1,000 in 2017.
By the end of May, 101 people had died from this heat wave.
