Çavuşoğlu discusses withdrawal of US troops from Syria with Pompeo

Baku. 20 December. REPORT.AZ/ Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu held telephone talks with US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo  to discuss Washington’s decision to withdraw troops from Syria, the Turkish Foreign Ministry reports, according to TASS.

"Our minister held talks with US Secretary of State Pompeo, they discussed the US decisionto withdraw troops from Syria," a source said.

Other details of their negotiations, as well as Ankara’s reaction to this decision are not provided.

Earlier US President Donald Trump ordered the complete withdrawal of troops from Syria.
