Afghan quake death toll rises to 1,124, aid group says

The death toll in Afghanistan's earthquake has risen to 1,124, the Afghan Red Crescent Society, a humanitarian group working in the region, said on Tuesday, Report informs via Reuters.
At least 3,251 people have been injured and more than 8,000 houses have been destroyed in the disaster, the group said.
On the night of August 31, a magnitude 6 earthquake struck near the city of Jalalabad, Afghanistan.
The Taliban government estimates the death toll at 4,000, while the UN estimates the death toll at 1,500.
