6.4-magnitude quake hits US

A magnitude-6.4 earthquake occurred in the Bering Sea north of the Andreanof Islands, Alaska, US, at around 02:35 on October 16.
The epicenter was about 65 km (40 miles) north-northwest of Adak. The tremor occurred at a depth of about 187 km (116 miles), and light shaking was probably felt throughout the central Aleutian Islands.
There have been no initial reports of damage or casualties as a result of the earthquake; however, significant damage is unlikely.
