Azerbaijan to introduce electronic compulsory health insurance certificates

Compulsory health insurance certificates in Azerbaijan will be issued online and created in the relevant electronic information system, Report informs.

The corresponding amendments are proposed to the laws "On Health Insurance" and "On the Rights of Persons with Disabilities."

The draft law was submitted for discussion at today's extraordinary session of the Milli Majlis.

According to the draft law, the concept of a Compulsory Health Insurance Fund is proposed to be included in the law "On Health Insurance."

Furthermore, it is envisaged to create a legal basis for all transactions related to compulsory health insurance to be carried out online through the information system of the authorized body.

Specifically, it is proposed that outpatient medications be dispensed in pharmacies based on electronic prescriptions transmitted through this information system.

Following the discussions, the document was put to a vote and adopted in the first reading.
