Second Karabakh War sparks interest in Azerbaijan's military experience

"Several countries that want to learn from our experience have already approached us and asked how we did it," Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said this in an interview with the Spanish newspaper El Pais in Brussels on December 14, when answering a question if "the outcome of the war increased your interest in military products"

"As Commander-in-Chief, who led the war from day one to the last day, I can reiterate that it will be difficult to explain how we managed it, because you have to feel it. Because we have suffered from Armenian occupation, humiliation and arrogance for almost 30 years. They were retaining our lands under occupation against documents of all international organizations, destroying our lands, claiming that the lands belonged to them. The UN Security Council, the OSCE, the Council of Europe, the European Parliament – they all adopted resolutions in support of us, but they simply continued occupation, declaring that they would remain there forever. So motivation, enthusiasm and courage were the key to our victory. It was a matter of national dignity and pride. Although many approach us on how we did it, I think it will take many years to explain it," Ilham Aliyev added.
