Azerbaijan holds public discussion on child safety in digital space

Azerbaijan has held a public discussion on a draft law proposing amendments to the Code of Administrative Offences and the laws "On Information, Informatization and Protection of Information" and "On Protection of Children from Harmful Information," Report informs.
The discussion was attended by representatives of state bodies, media entities, journalist organisations, specialists from related fields, digital content creators and experts.
Ahmad Ismayilov, executive director of the Media Development Agency, said the draft law was aimed at ensuring children's safety in the virtual space and legally regulating the national digital ecosystem.
He said the proposed amendments were in line with international legal standards and national interests, and would help improve the information environment.
During the discussion, participants exchanged views on the amendments envisaged in the draft law, submitted proposals to improve the legislation, and discussed the possible consequences and mechanisms for applying the new rules.
