The Russian peacekeeping contingent is the guarantor of the truce achieved, Russian President Vladimir Putin said, speaking on October 15 at a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in the format of a video conference, Report informs.
“With the active assistance of Russia, the [Karabakh] conflict was stopped. The Russian peacekeeping contingent acts as the guarantor of the reached truce. With our assistance, humanitarian supplies are delivered, the territories are cleared of mines,” Putin said.
He noted that all this once again confirms that “A Bad Peace Is Better Than a Good War,” and the key role of the CIS is to provide conditions for peaceful cooperation.
