"As a person working for the stability and peace of the Caucasus throughout my life, I deeply regret the actions of Armenia and condemn the recent attacks against Azerbaijan."
The former Turkish President Abdullah Gul said on his Facebook page on September 27, commenting on Armenia's attack in violation of the ceasefire.
The ex-president called on Armenia to withdraw from the occupied territories:
"I hope that the Armenian leadership will understand that permanent peace in the region cannot be established without withdrawing from the occupied Azerbaijani territories, which is a violation of international law. It will put an end to this unjust occupation that has lasted for 29 years to serve the true interests and welfare of its people."
