Factory producing work gloves opens in Azerbaijan's Khankandi

A work glove manufacturing plant, GP Safety LLC, has opened in Azerbaijan's Khankandi. Its annual production capacity is 25 million pairs. The products will be used in Azerbaijan's industry and agriculture.

According to a Report correspondent from Khankandi, the plant employs local residents.

One of them is Khayala Babayeva, who returned to her hometown of Khankandi a year ago.

Babayeva told Report that after moving, the government offered her family jobs at companies operating in Khankandi: "My husband and I chose to work in the glove workshop."

Another Khankandi resident, Elkhan Babayev, also spoke of quickly finding employment after moving to his hometown: "To be honest, I thought it would take us some time to find work after returning to Khankandi. But the opposite turned out to be true. My wife and I were offered jobs at the same time."

The plant will produce four types of work gloves for various purposes. The products are intended to meet the needs of the domestic market. Exports to the European market are also planned for the future. This facility will employ 35 people.

The investment volume in the enterprise amounts to 3.5 million manats. State support was also provided for its establishment. The Azerbaijan Business Development Fund under the Ministry of Economy provided a preferential loan of 1 million manats. Furthermore, under an investment incentive document, a VAT exemption of 238,000 manats was applied on imported machinery and equipment.

The establishment of this enterprise, along with contributing to the development of light industry in Khankandi, will also play a role in restoring the city's economic potential.

The creation of such industrial infrastructure provides employment for the local population, serves both to meet the needs of the domestic market, and increases export-oriented production.

All of these efforts are part of the consistent and targeted steps taken by the Azerbaijani government to restore and strengthen the economic potential of Karabakh and organize the production of various products.
