The volume of water resources in Azerbaijan has decreased by 15–20% due to climate change, Rafig Verdiyev, Head of the State Control Service for Water Use and Protection, said during a panel discussion at Baku Water Week.
According to Report, he noted that while the country previously received around 30 billion cubic meters of water, this volume has now declined due to the impact of climate change.
Verdiyev warned that if rising temperatures and reduced precipitation persist, the country could face even more significant water losses.
