As the host of this major event, Azerbaijan understands that having a home is a true value and a deeply important concept, Nga Kor Ming, Minister of Housing and Local Government of Malaysia, and President of UN-Habitat Assembly, said at the opening ceremony of WUF13 in Baku, according to Report.
He pronounced the phrase "Hər kəsin evi öz qibləsidir" (Everyone's home is their Qiblah) in Azerbaijani, stressing that this has been true for centuries: "Feeling at home is extremely important. Technology is transforming our society. At such a moment, it must be remembered that the future belongs to those who build it."
At the end of his speech, Nga Kor Ming also recalled the Azerbaijani proverb "Dama‑dama göl olar, axa‑axa sel" (Drop by drop a lake is formed, stream by stream a flood), calling on participants to benefit from the events held within WUF13.
