Ramil Jahangirov: Defining architectural style essential for proper urban planning

It is extremely important to properly plan cities, define territorial development concepts, and establish their architectural style, Ramil Jahangirov, representative of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture of Azerbaijan, said during an event held within the framework of WUF13 in Baku.

Report quotes him as saying Azerbaijan has undertaken the task of restoring the liberated territories, which constitute a significant part of the country - around 20% of its territory.

"The main goal of this reconstruction was officially defined not only as a guideline, but also fixed in relevant documents and state programs. The restoration of the territories was planned in accordance with global urban planning standards, norms, and principles. This played an important guiding role for all participants involved in the reconstruction process, including state institutions, urban planners, architects, and construction companies. From the very first day, we acted in accordance with this principle and began cooperation with international companies," he said.

Jahangirov added that defining an architectural style is necessary for the proper planning of cities.
