Guliyev: Adequate housing achievable through strong int'l co-op

The 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku showed that adequate housing and sustainable communities can only be achieved through shared responsibility, coordinated action, and strong international cooperation, Anar Guliyev, Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture of Azerbaijan and National Coordinator for WUF13, said during the forum's closing ceremony, Report informs.

According to him, Baku once again demonstrated the importance of solidarity, partnership, and effective multilateral cooperation in addressing global challenges:

"Although WUF13 has concluded, the partnerships strengthened here in Baku, the initiatives launched, and the commitments reaffirmed will continue beyond this forum. We hope that these discussions, opportunities, and proposed solutions will translate into concrete actions, contributing to resolving housing and homelessness issues affecting 3.4 billion people worldwide. As emphasized in Article 25 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, housing is a human right that must be ensured for the well-being of all."
